Stars At Trials For Combined Catholic Colleges 16s Girl’s Rugby League Team For Secondary School Titles

Competent in defense; strong physically and mentally; in a defensive posture. These are the young women who excelled at the Combined Catholic Colleges Rugby League 16s trials and earned spots on the team competing in the national secondary school championships.

Aselector has praised the new Combined Catholic Colleges rugby league 16s girls side as full of "amazing athletes" after a day of trials in western Sydney to discover the 20 teenagers to represent CCC at the forthcoming national secondary schools championships.

at late September, the 16s girls will make their debut at the prestigious rugby league competition, which will be held this year at Port Macquarie.

Scott Ashcroft, a selector for the 16s squad on Wednesday and coach of the CCC team at St. Patrick's Campbelltown, was among the first to incorporate a girls tournament at the 18s championships earlier this year.

Astonishing young athletes are being developed by their coaches, Ashcroft remarked.

The quality of women's leagues will skyrocket in the next decade.

Ashcroft said that all of the games played during the trials were defensive "arm wrestles."

"The defense was so solid in those games," he remarked.

A lot of the arm wrestling matches of that era ended in draws because of the high quality of the contact.

Emily Dietrich of Northern Cpuntry was one of many outstanding players.

As Ashcroft put it, "she was just outstanding" from the first game to the last.

She is very assured under the ball and has excellent kick return ability. She actively sought employment.

"Frontrower Lily Ryan was likewise fantastic.

She's a formidable defensive force since she's so physically fit and powerful on the court.

Erin Denham, the team manager, pointed out two further highlights.

When it came to passing, kicking, and overall performance, Northern's Macey Cox was outstanding. It was as though the ball were being pulled toward her.

She was a strong manager and leader who was willing to put it all on the line.

Organizer extraordinaire, that Sienna Thomas. She possesses a powerful defensive presence and an accurate kicking game.

Players of the Matches at the end of the trials were Isabella McDonald (Sydney) and Sienna Thomas (Metropolitan). Tahanni Kaufusi (Southern Country) and Macey Cox (Northern Country). Maretta Fuimaona (Metropolitan) and Lily Ryan (Northern Country). Charlotte Teplicanec (Sydney), Bonnie Porter (Northern Country). Freya Bryant (Southern Country) and Matilda Vella (Metropolitan).
